Ecosse starts off with a set of preset palettes, or more specifically, 19 individual color palettes. From there it then gives you the option to arrange them however you like on the palette editing window. The ripple filter is fairly simple, you do not need to have a green screen in front of your printer to achieve the desired result. I have used Ecosse successfully for a number of years. We are talking about the original palette mapper and the result Ecosse produces is very credible. As the original cartridge developer, I was able to tweak the palette immediately following the initial purchase of Ecosse and it still works just like the original. There is no need to apply any patches as it works. Frank I would have to disagree with the limited comments made by @Scott Mescud. A ripple filter is a tool that is used to paint multiple layers of colour over the top of an image, with the colour of each layer determined by the value of the colour palette, controlled by the mapper.
